‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ shows Freddie Mercury’s energy

From the "Bohemian Rhapsody" official Facebook page.

Lahore, PAKISTAN – Bohemian Rhapsody, one of the most anticipated movies of 2018, pays tribute to Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury’s rebellious and high flying spirit.

The biographical film stars Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury, the rebellious front man of one of the biggest rock bands.

The story revolves around Freddie’s life, the making of Queen and particularly their most famous song “Bohemian Rhapsody,” as well as Freddie’s sexuality and his fight against AIDS in his last days.

The most beautiful thing about the movie was that Freddie’s choices and decisions might appear to make him a horrible person at that time, but his zeal in the music he made was absolute.

Freddie Mercury was a rebel of his time, going against the norms, the traditions, the culture of not only the society, but also the music industry.

I love how the members of the band described themselves as ‘a band of misfits’ and that is the essence of the movie. Queen was a band of misfits and that’s why it belonged to all the misfits, the common people.

Malek’s brilliant acting is the spirit of the movie. He gives an energetic yet phenomenal performance that not many people can manage in a biopic.

The movie, which came out in October and is now in the running for five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actor, has some received some criticism regarding the historical accuracy of the events. But Malek’s expressions, his body posture, the way he moves around, the way he talks, everything about his performance makes this movie an absolutely stunning piece.

The only drawback I found was that the story ends a bit abruptly. But besides that, everything about the movie – the shots, cinematography, music performances, concert scenes – was absolutely worth my time.

So would I suggest this movie? ABSOLUTELY YES!
